The Nokia 5800 XpressMusic is a fabulously designed 3G phone with HSDPA, Wi-Fi, Edge and GPRS support. It’s a light device at 109g and has a narrow width of 51.7mm that enables the user to comfortably use it with one hand. It has a height of 111mm and a depth of 15.5mm. Its exceptional touch screen displays a higher resolution 360 by 640 in 16 million different colors. The screen’s aspect ratio is also wider than that of most phones at 16:9. This gives video playback and recording a VGA quality. Most devices have a 4:3 ratio. It’s principally black but with a highlight round the sides.

The Nokia 5800 is the first S60 touch enabled 5th edition device, not just in the Nokia range but in all other phone brands. Unlike the iPhone which uses capacitive touchscreens this phone uses a resistive touchscreen, meaning it has a variety of input methods, such as plectrum, UI control, stylus, finger touch and even wearing gloves. Capacitive touchscreens on the other hand use finger control only.
